OLG Old Lady Gardener #37 Weather Report

Yesterday I could feel spring pushing its way into Minnesota. The temperature was mid 40’s. There was sun on and off all day. The snow was melting so rivers of water were running everywhere. An evening walk to meet friends at the neighborhood restaurant was lovely if you could avoid the small lakes forming on the sidewalks and corners. Ahh – the shoulders relaxed, the steps lengthened as we felt safe to move a bit more quickly. The glories of spring.

Then today hit. Still warm this morning and rain. Yes, more melting but deep grey clouds controlled the skies. Then as afternoon pushed on the wind began to howl. The rain turned to spitting snow and the temperatures dropped quickly from upper 30’s to mid 20’s with a wind taking the feel of the air down in the low teens. Yep, we will have single digitals again tonight. All the lovely rain is turning to ice. Sidewalks and streets are glazing over. The tops of the deck tables that had just became visible are now white again. The hint of spring has disappeared once again.

(Above is mainly a weather report. But it was filled with key phrases and I wondered what happens when you just pull a few phrases out. Does it still make a weather report? Just having fun with words as the ice and snow fly outside. Happy Return to winter! ???)
